This extensive Albania collection was put together with great care by its previous owner, who neatly hinged and labeled all stamps by year of issue.  If Albania stamps are your passion, it’s perfect for you…  You’ll get over 1,000 stamps on 85 album pages to add to your Albania holdings!  Besides the sheer quantity, it’s exciting to see this wide-ranging collection is filled with many complete mint sets.  I’m impressed it contains so many early stamps of Albania.

Here are a few special stamps that caught my attention, revealing Albania’s turbulent past:

  • Issues of 1913 with the double-headed eagle hand-stamped – in celebration of the first anniversary of Albanian Independence over 100 years ago earlier.

  • Complete set of six mint-fresh stamps issued late 1913-early 1914.  Illustrates Gjergji Kastrioti, the Albanian national hero who resisted the Ottoman Turks.  Known as “Skanderbeg” (Lord Alexander) to the Ottomans, his stamps are inscribed “First King of Albania”.

  • 1917-18 stamps, issued during WWI, when Albania was in a period of anarchy.  Despite being invaded by many nations, including Italy, France, and Greece, nine stamps show the double-headed eagle, symbol of the sovereign nation of Albania.

  • Six mint stamps issued in 1919 with a shooting star hand-stamped in violet – Valued in Scott Catalogue at $17.50 each!

  • Sets of mint 1924 and 1925 commemoratives celebrating the return of the government to Albania’s capital of Tirana, plus Proclamation of the Republic on January 21, 1925.

  • 1928 complete mint set issued to proclaim the kingship of Ahmed Zogu I.  Black overprint translates as “Kingdom of Albania”.  1938 mint set honors King “Zog” and Queen Geraldine.

  • 1943 stamps issued under Italian administration showing Italy’s King Victor Emmanuel III.

  • Airmail stamps of 1925-28 – they look so fresh, it’s hard to believe they’re 97 to 100 years old!

Besides the many early issues in the collection, you’ll get all kinds of beautiful modern sets, both mint and used.  Topicals of all kinds, stamps issued during periods of Russian and Chinese influence, and lots more!

Check out this impressive collection in our video.  To take a closer look, just hit your pause button or space bar when you see a page you’d like to examine.  Hit it again to restart the action.  Going to a full screen will make it easier, too.  It’s that easy and the best way to see exactly what you’re getting – lots of value for your money!
