As part of the United Nations World Public Information Campaign for Human Rights, this series reproduces, over a five-year period, the entire text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Vienna’s s4 issue pictures the fifth Article of the Declaration and “The Prisoners,” by Kathe Kallwitz of Germany. The s6 issue has Article Six and a fresco entitled “Justice,” by the Italian artist Raphael. This fresco was provided by the Vatican Museum. All of these works of art were adapted as stamps by Rocco J. Callari and Robert Stern of the United States.
