The sites honored on the Vienna stamps were Urnes Stave Church, Norway; and the Struve Geodetic Arc. The Struve Geodetic Arc is a chain of survey triangulations spanning 10 countries from Hammerfest, Norway, to the Black Sea, a distance of over 1,750 miles.
