2002 UNAIDS Awareness, S/S

The UNAIDS Awareness souvenir sheets are the U.N. Postal Authority’s first semi-postal issues.  A semi-postal stamp is priced higher than its denomination.  The additional amount is contributed to a designated cause or charity.  The funds raised through the sale of the UNAIDS Awareness souvenir sheets will be contributed to the global fund on AIDS and health, established in 2001 by U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
