World Food Day Stamps Raises Awareness of Hunger

On October 16, 2017, the United Nations Postal Administration issued a set of six stamps (two from each issuing office) in honor of World Food Day.  The stamps, designed and illustrated by Canadian artist Helen Darkik, picture different food products.

The Food and Agriculture Organization established World Food Day to commemorate the group’s founding on October 16, 1945.  The theme for the 2017 celebration was “Change the future of migration – Invest in food security and rural development.”  The day focuses on UN Sustainable Development Goal #2 – to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030.
