On June 6, 2017, the UN issued six stamps (two from each issuing office) to commemorate World Environment Day. These stamps highlight some of Canada’s natural beauty. Stamps from the Geneva UN office picture a Snowy Owl in Quebec and Red Maples and Aspens.
World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 each year to raise awareness of the environment and encourage people to do something positive. In 2017, Canada hosted the day as part of the country’s 150th anniversary. The theme for the day was “Connecting People with nature.”
