These species were added to the Conference of Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Appendices during the 17th meeting of the conference, which was held in South Africa in 2016.
The Endangered Species series began in 1993 to raise awareness of animals and plants in need of legal protection and conservation.
