According to the United Nations, “Our cultural heritage and our natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration... World Heritage sites belong to all the people of the world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located.” The focus of the 2011 World Heritage stamps are Nordic Countries.
The sites honored on the two Geneva stamps are Suomenlinna Fortress, Finland and Kronborg Castle, Denmark.
