# UNG513-16 - 2010 United Nations Endangered Species
The United Nations issued its 18th set of the U.N. Endangered Species series, featuring vulnerable plant species. The Geneva stamps picture the boojum tree (fouquieria columnaris), krantz aloe (aloe arborescens), snowdrop (galanthus krasnovii), and the dragon tree (dracaena draco).
The Endangered Species stamps raise awareness of animal and plant species on the verge of extinction. A new species group has been featured each year since the program began in 1993. This was the first U.N. set designed by nature artist Rosie Sanders of the United Kingdom.
