2008 0,85 UNG Flag/Coin Block

The Geneva stamps feature the Madagascar flag and a ariary; the Rwanda flag, 50 francs; the Namibia flag, 5 dollars; the Maldives flag, 1 rufiyaa; and the Benin flag, 10 CFA francs.  Also shown are the Islamic Republic of Iran flag, 500 rials; the Albania flag, 10 leks; and the Turkey flag, 1 new Lira.

The flag of Maldives features a white crescent moon, representative of the country’s unified Islamic faith, in a green rectangle on a red background.  The green stands for the island’s many palm trees, while the red symbolizes the brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend their country.
