2008 UNG Inter. Holocaust Remem. Day

$3.25

Choose Option:

In 2005, a U.N. resolution was passed making January 27 an International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.  This day was chosen because it was the day in 1945 that the Nazi death camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau (Poland) was liberated.

The stamp honors the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and encourages the people of the world to prevent it from happening again.  It stands as a reminder to future generations to never forget the atrocities that took the lives of one third of the Jewish population.
