# UNG459-60 - 2006 World Heritage, France
World Heritage – France
The twelfth addition to the World Heritage Series showcased some of the thirty world heritage sites in France in 2006.
One of the Offices in Geneva stamps pictures Caesar’s Tower in the medieval town of Provins. The tower was a refuge in case the town was captured. Mont-Saint-Michel stands on the other stamp. The structure is a Gothic-style Benedictine abbey built on a rocky islet between Normandy and Brittany between the eleventh and sixteenth centuries.
