2004 Endangered Species, 4 stamps

With this series, the United Nations Postal Administration emphasizes the need for protection of endangered species.  Issues from the U.N. Offices in Geneva, Switzerland, show the Asiatic black bear, Northern Andean deer, lion-tailed macaque, and gaur.  The wild gaur is a large wild bovine living in southern Asia.  Rarely hunted, the species is threatened by the press of civilization and diseases from domestic cattle.
