1985 United Nations 40th Anniversary,S/S

The stamps used in this issue are the same as those used in the New York issue. Designed by American painter Andrew Wyeth, the first is entitled “Detail from the Corner” and the second is “Detail from Alvaro Packing Hay.” Wyeth’s work is often extremely detailed and he is best known for his realistic and thoughtful pictures of people and places in rural America.
