# UN593-94 - 1991 Rights of the Child
With the convention on the Rights of the Child, the United Nations has given the global community an international instrument to protect the dignity, equality, and basic human rights of the world’s children. For the first time, the United Nations Postal Administration conducted a stamp design competition at the United Nations International Schools in New York, Geneva, and Vienna. Two designs were selected from each school and were used for the stamps to be issued in that location.
