1956 World Health Organization

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) is another specialized agency of the U.N.  It helps build better health systems throughout the world.  Prevention of disease is the key goal of W.H.O.  It works with governments to provide safe drinking water, adequate sewage disposal, and immunization against childhood diseases.  The World Health Organization also helps in medical research.
