1982 20c Space Exploration

Since the early days of the space age, the United Nations has had a unique role as a focal point for international cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space.  The General Assembly declared in 1963 that outer space should benefit all people and that no nation could claim any of it.  In 1967, over 90 countries signed a treaty reflecting these aims.
