Keep Your United Nations Stamp Collection Up to Date

These Planet Mars stamps were issued by the United Nations in 2022.  The stamps were issued to commemorate human exploration of the red planet.  The New York Office stamps included images of the Proctor Crater and the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover.  The rover was launched on July 30, 2020, with a mission to "Seek signs of ancient life and collect samples of rock and regolith (brocken rock and soil) for possible return to Earth."  It landed on Mars at the site of the Jezero Crater on February 18, 2021.  The Mars Ingenuity helicoper (a small drone-like aircraft known as an aerial explorer) was also sent with the rover.  It successfully conducted powered flight on Mars and began work demonstrating how future rovers and aerial explorers could be used together to further explore the red planet.  There were two stamps and one souvenir sheet issued by each United Nations office.
