Snuff Tax Revenue Stamps- Missing From Many Collections!

Also known as smokeless tobacco, snuff is a powdered tobacco product that is either sniffed into the nose (snuffed) or applied to the gums.  Snuff was taxed at a rate based on weight.  The first separate Revenue stamps for the product were issued in 1870, and a large number of different shapes were produced to accommodate different package shapes.  Beginning in 1932, annual series were introduced.
