Own Limited-Edition Discovery STS-91 Silk Covers

Produced by Colorano, this set of covers honors important events from the Space Shuttle Discovery's 24th mission, STS-91 (the 91st mission of the Space Shuttle program).

These popular Colorano covers feature “silk” cachets that are produced through a special screening process and then bonded to the envelope.  Each cachet pictures a photo from the mission and is surrounded by a golden border.  The covers bear patriotic US stamps and cancellations relating to events from the mission.  You can discover the story behind each one with the informative captions next to the cachets.

Launched on June 2, 1998, STS-91 lasted nine days, returning June 12.  This flight marked the final Shuttle docking with the Mir Space Station.  During the docking, an American astronaut, who had spent months on the space station, boarded the shuttle to return to Earth.  Experiments were transferred between the shuttle and the space station.
