Unusual & Controversial Unlisted Revenue Stamps

Now's your chance to get two unlisted oleomargarine stamps.  You'll receive one 12 lbs stamp (issued in 1931), and one 24 lbs stamp (issued in 1935) – both used.

When oleomargarine was invented in 1869, dairy farmers sought to prvent it from out-selling butter.  This led to a new tax on margarine.  Stamps showed payment of that tax.  Because these were affixed to packaging, it's rare to find them in such nice used condition today.
