1857 3c Washington Type III Single (Scott #26) on Cover from Burlington, VT

1857 3¢ dull red Washington single tied by blue grid cancel with accompanying November 1, 1860, Burlington, Vermont, circular date stamp cancel on cover to New York City. 

Backflap missing, though still an extremely fine 3¢ 1857-61 Issue cover in many respects, from the stamp's centering to the clarity of the grid & Circular Date Stamp cancel strikes.  Also an interesting usage considering that the 1860 Presidential Election took place five days after this cover was sent.
