Own Mint 2024 Cities of Heroes Stamps From Ukraine

These stamps continue the Ukraine War series known as "Cities of Heroes."  Each issue commemorates different cities that have stood up to Russian tyranny during the war.  This addition honors the cities of Chernihiv, Nizhyn, Semenivka, and Yahidne in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine.

The Chernihiv region was besest by the Russian invaders on February 24, 2022, and the locals actively resisted, helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, setting up obstacles to prevent enemy vehicles from advancing, and more.  With their help, Russia was driven from the region by April 3, 2022.  However, they still face uncertainty as the proximity with the Russian border makes enemy missile attacks a continued threat.

Despite their many hardships and the damages caused by the war, the people of the Chernihiv region endure.  They continue to survive and rebuild, an example of the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people.  The designs on these four mint stamps are reminders of that.
