About the stamp design:  The three stamp designs picture snow-covered landscapes.  The multilayered illustrations were created by artist Tim Zeltner.  According to Canada Post, Zeltner “skillfully captures the frosty splendour of our Canadian winters, employing cool tones and layered images to provide a vivid sense of depth and perspective.”  The scenes pictured include a mountain village (Permanent domestic rate), frozen pond (US rate), and rugged coastal landscape (international rate).

Special design details:  The snowy areas of the stamp designs were overprinted with clear pearl ink to create a subtle effect that makes the snow appear more life-like.
