About the stamp design: Each stamp pictures a photograph of a different ferry still in service at the time the stamps were issued:
1) Spirit of British Columbia – Travels between Vancouver and Victoria (Vancouver Island) across the Salish Sea.
2) Chi-Cheemaun (“big canoe” in Ojibwe) runs from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island on Lake Huron’s Georgian Bay.
3) Trillium – The oldest of the five ferries pictured, runs from Toronto to the Toronto Islands.
4) Alphonse-Desjardins – Travels across the St. Lawrence River year-round from Québec to Lévis.
5) Grand Manan V – Runs from New Brunswick’s Blacks Harbor to Grand Manan Island in the Bay of Fundy.
Special design details: Selvage includes stamp details as well as the text “Let’s Take the Ferry!” in both English and French.
