Mickey Visits St. Louis' Gateway Arch
In 1991 Bhutan issued several souvenir sheets picturing Mickey and his pals exploring some of the world's wonders. The sheet offered here pictures Mickey taking his boat past the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. The arch, which was completed in 1965, stands on the site where St. Louis was founded along the banks of the Mississippi River. It's a monument to America's westward expansion and is the world's tallest arch. It's also the tallest man-made monument in the U.S.
