Disney Stamps Bring Uncle Remus to Life

Issued in 1981 this fun set of six Turks & Caicos Islands Christmas stamps features scenes from Song of the South.  Released in 1946, Song of the South was Disney's live-action and animated musical film telling the stories of Uncle Remus.  Joel Chandler Harris published the series of fictional stories in 1881.  The movie was Disney's first feature film to include live actors and won the Academy Award for Best Song, "Zip-a-Dee-D00-Dah."
