In 1987, Canada hosted its Third International Philatelic Exhibition, or CAPEX (CAnadian Philatelic EXhibition).  The event marked the 120th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation and the 100th anniversary of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. 

You can own a neat souvenir sheet issued for this exhibition by Micronesia.  Many foreign countries usually attend these exhibitions and issue their own stamps to mark the occasion.  This souvenir sheet pictures the flags of Micronesia and Canada with Toronto’s CN (Canadian National) Tower in the selvage.  Standing 1,815.3 feet tall, the CN Tower held the record for the world’s tallest freestanding structure for 32 years until 2007.
