Collectors prize Colorano’s Silk First Day Covers.  Each color illustration is printed on satin-finish fabric, fastened to the cover and surrounded by a luxurious gold embossed border.  While all First Day Covers are limited editions, covers with multiple stamps such as these are even scarcer.   These covers feature one new issue stamp with a special First Day of Issue cancellation, plus several other stamps that relate to its history.   

Selections will vary, but the one I looked through had lots of neat covers.  For instance, I saw one cover with a 2001 George Washington stamp accompanied by stamps honoring Martha Washington, Mount Vernon, the Surrender at Saratoga, and the Washington credo stamp.  I saw other covers honoring the USS Constellation, Sugar Ray Robinson, Frank Sinatra, Samuel de Champlain, Mother Teresa, Frederic Bartholdi (designer of the Statue of Liberty), author Langston Hughes, NATO, Oklahoma statehood, Gerald Ford, baseball, and more.  One neat cover featured a 2006 Purple Heart stamp accompanied by stamps honoring the veterans of WWI, WWI, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
