Collectors prize Colorano’s Silk First Day Covers.  Each color illustration is printed on satin-finish fabric, fastened to the cover and surrounded by a luxurious gold embossed border.  While all First Day Covers are limited editions, covers with multiple stamps such as these are even scarcer.   These covers feature one new issue stamp with a special First Day of Issue cancellation, plus several other stamps that relate to its history.

Selections will vary, but the one I looked through had lots of neat covers.  For instance, I saw one cover with a stamp honoring the 50th anniversary of the US Air Force Academy accompanied by a US Air Force stamp, a Colorado stamp (where the academy is located) and a Billy Mitchell stamp (he’s regarded as the father of the US Air Force).  I saw other covers honoring Frederic Bartholdi (designer of the Statue of Liberty), author Langston Hughes, NATO, Oklahoma statehood, and more.  One neat cover featured the 1978 French Alliance stamp along with stamps honoring the Marquis de Lafayette and Benjamin Franklin, who were both crucial to the US gaining French support during the American Revolution.

That’s just a small sample of the history I found in my batch of covers.  Just imagine all the great stamps and history you’ll find in your collection.  Send for yours today.
