Mint Stamps Honor Kennedy's Dream to Land on the Moon

Issued in 2013, this sheet of two mint stamps marks the 50th anniversary of the day America lost one of our most popular presidents.  The youngest man ever elected president, Kennedy launched a "New Frontier" challenging people to "Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country."  His presidency had many high points: he created the Peace Corps, he committed America to putting a man on the moon, he stood up to the Soviet Union and the threat of nuclear war during the Cuban missile crisis, and civil rights were advanced.

This sheet pays tribute to one of Kennedy's missions in particular – landing a man on the moon.  It pictures Kennedy giving his famous "Moon Speech" at Rice University in 1962.  Also shown are the Apollo 11 rocket launch and the first step on the moon in 1969.

A fitting tribute to President Kennedy – order yours now.
