Two mint Portugal souvenir sheets picture the coastal lands on the island of São Jorge in the Azores island chain. The sheets picture Santo Cristo lagoon and the Cubres cliffs.

The Azores is a chain of nine volcanic islands in the North Atlantic. Though part of the Republic of Portugal, they have their own independent government.
