Own a Virgin Islands Revenue Stamp Missing From Most Collections!

After the United States acquired the Virgin Islands from Denmark in 1917, revenue stamps were introduced to help incorporate the territory into the American financial system. These stamps, used for paying taxes on bonds, stocks, contracts, leases, insurance, deeds, and more, were similar in design to the Danish revenue stamps they replaced. They were printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and distributed by the Virgin Islands National Bank.

Because these stamps were not listed in the Scott Catalogue until around 2018, they are harder to find and many collectors were unaware of their existence. Add this very fine example to your back of the book collection today!
