# CNS2505 - Elvis Presley "Madison Square Garden" US Half Dollar Commemorative Coin
Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever! This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.
Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar. The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Madison Square Garden
This coin commemorates Elvis’ first concert in New York City. Although he had performed on television shows recorded in the Big Apple, Elvis’ first live concert in the city was on June 9, 1972.
In a gold-studded white jump suit, Elvis opened the sold-out show with his first commercially recorded song, “That’s All Right Mama.” He went on to sing other popular songs of the day including Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary” plus many of his own classic songs.
Elvis sold out all four shows over the three-day weekend, a first for Madison Square Garden. Among the attendees were John Lennon, George Harrison, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, and Art Garfunkel.
