# CNS2073 - Elvis Presley "Donch'a Think It's Time" US Half Dollar Commemorative Coin
Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever! This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.
Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar. The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Doncha’ Think It’s Time
Just one month before being inducted into the Army, Elvis recorded “Doncha’ Think It’s Time,” “Your Cheating Heart.” and “Wear Your Ring Around My Neck.” They were part of a session at Radio Recorders studio, located at 7000 Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood. Radio Recorders was considered the best recording facility in LA. Its special curved and paneled walls gave the sound engineers room to do creative editing and “Doncha’ Think It’s Time,” which spent 6 weeks on the Billboard Top 100 list, was definitely an Elvis and Radio Recording Studio winner.
“Doncha Think It’s Time” was also written by Clyde Otis. After serving in the Marines during World War II, Otis was inspired by his fellow Marine Bobby Troup (famous for the tune “Route 66”) to become a songwriter himself. Otis had his first major success with Nat King Cole’s recording of his song “That’s All There is to That,” which landed in the Billboard Top 20 in 1956. He went on to write and co-write nearly 800 songs. He was also one of the first African American record executives.
