Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever! This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.
Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar. The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
U.S. Male
Two weeks before the birth of daughter Lisa Marie, Elvis was in Nashville to record “U.S. Male.” Written by Jerry Reed and released in March 1968, this song spent nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 list, peaking at number 28.
Songwriter Reed had his first hit in 1967, with Elvis’ recording of “Guitar Man.” After Elvis recorded a second song of Reed’s, “U.S. Male,” Reed wrote and recorded an Elvis tribute which he named Tupelo Mississippi Flash. It gave the singer/songwriter his first top-twenty hit.
