Paralyzed

Elvis recorded “Paralyzed” on September 2, 1956, in the midst of a three-day marathon recording session at Radio Recorders.  It became part of the Elvis album.  The session also produced “When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again,” “Long Tall Sally,” “Old Shep,” and “Too Much.”  Three days later, Elvis presented his mother with the legendary pink Cadillac.

“Paralyzed” was written by Otis Blackwell.  Blackwell was a one-man songwriting factory who churned out more than 1,000 songs in his lifetime including “All Shook Up,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” and “Return to Sender.”  Released with “Little Sister” on the flip side, “Paralyzed” spent seven weeks on the charts.
