Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.  He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever!  This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.

Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar.  The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.

Little Sister

“Little Sister” was written by the songwriting team of Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman. (Pomus and Shuman also wrote Elvis’ hits “Surrender,” “Suspicion,” “(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame,” and “Viva Las Vegas.”  Elvis recorded “Little Sister” on June 25, 1961, between shooting the movies Blue Hawaii and Follow That Dream.

Released with “(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame” on the flip side, “Little Sister” began to climb the charts just eight weeks after it was recorded.  It spent 13 weeks on the US Billboard charts and peaked at #5.  The single hit #1 in Britain, and had total sales in excess of $1,000,000.  Three decades later, country singer Dwight Yoakam’s remake of “Little Sister” also hit the charts.
