# CNS2030 - Elvis Presley "One Night Stand" US Half Dollar Commemorative Coin
Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever! This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.
Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar. The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
One Night
Elvis recorded “One Night” on January 24, 1957. The song – written by the songwriting duo of Dave Bartholomew and Pearl King – was originally entitled “One Night of Sin.” Bartholomew was the multi-talented figure behind a majority of classic New Orleans rhythm and blues songs of the ‘50s, and the self-proclaimed inventor of the “Big Beat” style. The duo also had a hit with “I Hear You Knocking,” recorded by Fats Domino and a host of other performers.
The original tune featured lyrics that were a bit scandalous for the times. For Elvis’ version, lyrics were altered to “one night of you” he was “praying for” instead of the original “one night of sin” he was “paying for.” The single spent a whopping 17 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at #4.
