Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar. The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Can’t Help Falling in Love
“Can’t Help Falling In Love” was recorded for the Blue Hawaii soundtrack. The film showcased fourteen songs, which were recorded in just three days during March 1961. The single spent 14 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, peaking at #2. It also reached number one on the Easy Listening chart, where it stayed for six weeks. The song earned gold record status on March 30, 1962.
Over time, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” became Elvis’ finale song in his live performances in the late 1960s and 70s. He closed his 1973 televised Aloha from Hawaii performance with it. And then sang a faster version to close his final TV special, Elvis in Concert.
The songwriting team of George Weiss, Hugo Peretti, and Luigi Creatore wrote it. The trio is also known for writing the hit “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” while Peretti and Creatore produced the Isley Brothers’ hit “Shout,” several Perry Como albums and “What a Wonderful World.”
