# CNS2004 - Elvis Presley "Dollar All Shook Up" US Half Dollar Commemorative Coin
Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever! This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.
Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar. The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
All Shook Up
Elvis recorded singer and songwriter Otis Blackwell’s “All Shook Up” in 1957. The inspiration for the song came when a music producer challenged Blackwell to write a song about a shaken bottle of Pepsi Cola. Elvis’ version of the song spent 30 weeks on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart. It reached #1 and was the longest-running single of his career. “All Shook Up” also hit #1 on the R&B and country charts.
Blackwell also wrote Elvis’ smash hits “Dong Be Cruel,” “Return to Sender,” and “One Broken Heart For Sale.” Blackwell wrote more than 1,000 songs during his career, including the hits “Fever” and “Great Balls of Fire.” But his partnership with Elvis Presley brought him the greatest acclaim. Remarkably, the two artists never actually met face to face!
Over 2,000,000 copies of “All Shook Up” were sold, earning the song a 2x Platinum certification. It was later listed in Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
