Elvis Rents Amusement Park

As much as Elvis loved his Graceland home, there were times when he wanted a different kind of entertainment.  One of the places he would go was the Fairgrounds Amusement Park.  To avoid crowds, Presley would rent the entire park in the middle of the night.  He would invite his friends, and occasionally fans who were at the gate of his home.  Elvis paid for everything, the rides and food from the concession stand.

Though Elvis enjoyed most of the rides, his favorites were the Pippin, a wooden roller coaster, and the Dodgems bumper cars.  He would ride the roller coaster many times without stopping.  At the Dodgems, Presley had a favorite car he would ride in for hours as his friends crashed into each other again and again.

The amusement park gave Elvis a chance to have some fun and share the fun with others.
