Inducted Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was established in 1983 to pay homage to the men and women – performers and composers – who have contributed to this distinctly American style of music.

The museum held its first induction ceremony in 1986 and, of course, Elvis was among the first to be honored.  Others inducted that year include Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, and Little Richard.

In 2013, the museum opened a new Elvis exhibit with several items on loan from his estate.  These included his 1975 custom-made “Super Trike” motorcycle, jewelry, and clothes.
