Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.  As a real Elvis fan, you love capturing your favorite historic moments from the life of the original American idol.  This coin preserves one of your favorite Elvis memories

Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar.  The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.

Return to the Spotlight

This coin commemorates Elvis’ first television appearance after returning from his military service in Germany.  When Elvis was discharged in March 1960, he was pleased to find his two-year absence hadn’t hurt his career at all.  In fact, his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, had released several of Elvis’ recordings while he was in Germany.  Elvis was more popular than he had been two years earlier.

Legendary crooner Frank Sinatra invited Elvis to appear on his program, The Frank Sinatra Timex Show, in a special, titled “Welcome Home Elvis.”  The show was filmed in the grand ballroom of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami on March 26, 1960, and aired on May 12.  Elvis hadn’t performed on TV or for an audience since 1957.

Elvis performed “Fame and Fortune” and “Stuck on You,” songs from his first post-Army recording session.  Then he and Sinatra did a duet, with Elvis singing Sinatra’s classic “Witchcraft” and Sinatra singing Elvis’ “Love Me Tender.”  Although the show received poor reviews, it got 41.5% of the ratings that night.  Elvis received $125,000 for about six minutes of screen time (valued at over $1 million today).
