# CN2010P - 2010 United States Mint Proof Set, San Francisco Mint Mark
Is Your Collection Missing the 2010 Proof Coin Set?
This set contains every proof coin denomination issued in 2010. This includes the first coins in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, the second coin in the Sacagawea (Native American) Dollar program, and a set of four Presidential Dollar coins.
The America the Beautiful Quarters Program featured a national park or other national site in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or US territories. The program began in 2010, and five quarters were released each year until the program was completed in 2021.
The Sacagawea Dollar has the same obverse (heads) image as the previous coins, but the reverse (tails) side pictures the Hiawatha Belt surrounded by five arrows. The belt symbolizes the Iroquois Confederacy (or Haudenosaunee) formed by five Native American nations.
The Presidential Dollars are part of the Presidential $1 Coin Program, which pictured each eligible US President (To be eligible, a President had to have been dead at least two years before the coin was minted.). Four coins were released each year, honoring the Presidents in the order they served.
This set of proof coins was produced by the US mint in San Francisco using a process that brings out the beauty of each coin’s design. The dies and planchets (the metal disks that will become coins) are polished before the coin is struck. This gives the fields (blank areas) a mirrored look and the image a frosted effect. Proof coins are struck twice, giving the coin a sharper design and rims. The proof sets are packaged at the mint and display America’s coins at their best. Each set is only produced for one year, so the supply is limited.
This set contains these Proof coins:
4 Presidential Dollars (commemorating Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, and Abraham Lincoln)
1 Sacagawea Dollar
1 Kennedy Half Dollar
5 Washington Quarters (honoring Hot Springs National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite national Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and Mount Hood National Forest)
1 Roosevelt Dime
1 Jefferson Nickel
1 Lincoln Cent
The 2010 Proof Set deserves a home equal to the coins’ beauty. The strong plastic display cases are just that home. The coins are arranged on patriotic backgrounds and sealed in attractive cases to keep dust, fingerprints, and moisture from dulling the brilliant finish of these Proof coins. A Certificate of Authenticity is also included.
Year Issued: 2010
Face Value: $6.91
Mintage: 1.103,815
