# CN2004M - 2004 United States Mint Set, Denver & Philadelphia Mint Marks
Own the 2004 Mint Uncirculated Coin Set – Including First Westward Journey Nickels
This set contains every coin denomination issued in 2004. This includes the first Westward Journey Nickel Series coins honoring the bicentennial of both the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark expedition. The quarters are the sixth set of five from the 50 States Program, with different states featured on the reverse (tails) side of the Washinton quarter. The states were honored in the order they joined the Union.
Mint sets are produced by the US Mint for the enjoyment of coin collectors. The planchets (blank metal disks that are struck to produce coins) are burnished before being hand loaded into the coining press. They are then placed in special packaging to keep them in uncirculated condition. Each set contains one coin of each denomination and design from each mint that produced coins that year. These mint sets are produced for only one year, so the supply is limited.
The 22 coins in this set are sealed in four protective plastic sleeves. Two sleeves have coins from the Philadelphia Mint, while the other sleeves contain coins from the Denver Mint. The set comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the US Mint and charts describing the specifications of each coin including its designer, composition, weight, and more. It is all packaged in two envelopes, one containing coins from the Denver mint and the other from the Philadelphia mint.
This set contains:
2 Sacagawea Dollars
2 Kennedy Half Dollars
10 Washington Quarters (paying tribute to five states – Michigan, Florida, Texas, Iowa, and Wisconsin)
2 Roosevelt Dimes
4 Jefferson Nickels – two honoring the Louisiana Purchase and two commemorating Lewis and Clark’s expedition
