# CN2000M - 2000 United States Mint Set, Denver & Philadelphia Mint Marks
Get the First Mint Coin Set of the New Century
This set includes the first coins issued in the 21st century. It was the first year the Sacagawea dollar coin was issued. The quarters are the second set of five from the 50 States Program, with different states featured on the reverse (tails) side of the Washinton quarter. The states were honored in the order they joined the Union.
The 20 coins in this set are sealed in four protective plastic sleeves. Two sleeves have coins from the Philadelphia Mint, while the other sleeves contain coins from the Denver Mint. The set comes with information about the quarters from 50 State Quarters Program and a chart describing the specifications of each coin including its designer, composition, weight, and more. It is all packaged in two envelopes, one containing coins from the Denver mint and the other from the Philadelphia mint.
Mint sets are produced by the US Mint for the enjoyment of coin collectors. The planchets (blank metal disks that are struck to produce coins) are burnished before being hand loaded into the coining press. They are then placed in special packaging to keep them in uncirculated condition. Each set contains one coin of each denomination and design from each mint that produced coins that year. These mint sets are produced for only one year, so the supply is limited.
This set contains:
2 Sacagawea Dollars
2 Kennedy Half Dollars
10 Washington Quarters (paying tribute to five states –Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Virginia)
