US Mint Began Producing Mint Sets Again in 1968 –

Own a Set of 10 Coins from this Year

After three years without producing mint sets, the US Mint began offering them again in 1968.  This set, produced that first year, includes coins sealed in two protective plastic sleeves.  One sleeve has five coins from the Denver Mint, while the other contains coins from both the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mint.

Mint sets are produced by the US Mint for the enjoyment of coin collectors.  The planchets (blank metal disks that are struck to produce coins) are burnished before being hand loaded into the coining press.  They are then placed in special packaging to keep them in uncirculated condition.  Each set contains one coin of each denomination and design from each mint that produced coins that year.  These mint sets are produced for only one year, so the supply is limited.

What this set contains:

1 Half Dollar – Denver Mint

2 Quarters – Philadelphia and Denver Mints

2 Dimes – Philadelphia and Denver Mints

2 Nickels – Denver and San Francisco Mints

3 Pennies – Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints

Now you can get your own set of 1968 Mint coins.  This set over a half-century old.  Order yours today.
