On January 20, 1965, Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as America's 36th President.  This was a far different event than his first inauguration after the assassination of John F. Kennedy.  This cover commemorates the 1965 inauguration that was a cause for celebration rather than being filled with sadness.  Johnson had one the presidential election the previous November, when he ran against Barry Goldwater.  LBJ received over 60 % of the popular vote, teh largest of any president in more than a century.
