This cover is a fitting tribute to Major League Baseball pitcher Nolan Ryan.  It was postmarked twice, once in his hometown of Alvin, Texas, on the day of his retirement, and a second time when Ryan was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.  

Ryan played professional ball for a record 27 seasons.  He hold records for the most career strikeouts, no-hitters, double-digit strikeout games, and many more.  This cover is a neat reminder of one of America's great baseball players.
